Durga Puja is the much-awaited festival of the Bengali community in India. This festival is observed in the month of Ashwin according to the Indian calendar, which falls in October in the Gregorian calendar. The festival is celebrated in the last 5 days of Navratri.
Although this is a festival of the eastern region in India, nowadays Durga Puja is celebrated all over the country by various Bengali societies. Delhi being the capital of the nation is a residency to a large population of Bengalis, who conduct Durga Puja at various places in Delhi every year.
The pandals, rituals, food and the concerts arranged during the puja can give you a hint of the grand celebration of goddess Durga in West Bengal.

It is one of Delhi’s most magnificent and vibrant Durga Puja pandals where one can witness the traditional customs. You must visit this location to witness Dhunuchi Nach which takes place during the Durga puja.

New Delhi Kali Bari is one of the oldest temples in Delhi. This pandal should be a must visit on your list if you are in Delhi. The vibe and the ambience one can feel is beyond words .
Kali Bari is also known for the Daker Saaj’, one of the two types of saaj or embellishments of ma Durga. The Daker Saaj is made of white shoal widely found in India and South Asia.

Regar Pura Durga Puja Pandal is perhaps the most famous one on this side of the city. A favourite of the peeps in and around Karol Bagh, the pandal has beautiful protimas, some great cultural performances and so many options to grab some good food from.

Kashmiri Gate
Delhi’s one of the oldest and most exclusive pandals is Kashmiri gate. This puja was started around the 1910s as a ‘baroyari’ or community puja.
