ABOUT TRIPURMALINI TEMPLE

Tripurmalini temple also known as Devi Talab Temple. There is a belief about this temple that the left chest (breast) of Maa Sati had fallen at this place.

This temple is one amongst the 51 Shaktipeeth Temples in India which is dedicated to Maa Sati.

Since then mother is sitting here in the form of Shakti ‘Tripurmalini’ and Bhairav ‘Bhishan’. Various sages like Vashishtha, Vyasa, Manu, Jamadagni, Parshuram had come and worshiped here in the form of Tripura Malini.

Along with this, Lord Shiva killed a demon named Jalandhar. After which the name of this place became Jalandhar.

Devotees believe that anyone who dies at Tripurmalini Shaktipeeth, goes to heaven after death. Even the birds or animals dying at this temple get free from the cycle of birth and death.

According to another belief, all the Gods are present here partly to meet Matarani. Worshipping here and at every shaktipeeth is considered extremely auspicious. By worshipping, we all are in safe and protective hands of Matarani.

Tripurmalini Temple

It is said about this temple that this temple is 200 years old. It is also called ‘Stanpeeth’ in which the left breast of the goddess is covered with a cloth and the face made of metal is shown to the devotees.

The old structure of the Tripurmalini Shakti peeth has been renovated and changed to how it looks today. New sections have also been added within the temple premises.

There is a huge tank (called talab in Hindi), as old as the main temple and is the main attraction and reason why Devi TalabMandir got its name.

This temple is situated in the middle of the pond where there is a 12 feet wide place to go. There are three idols in the main temple of Bhagwati.

In these three idols, Maa Lakshmi and Maa Saraswati are seated along with Maa Bhagwati. Devotees circumambulate the idols of these goddesses in this temple. This entire complex is spread over about 400 meters.
