ABOUT STATUE OF UNITY

Statue of Unity is an ode dedicated to the “Ironman of India” alias the First Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Minister of Independent India ‘Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’ . Standing at the charming shores of Sardar Sarovar Dam, Kevadia , Gujarat, India, this spectacular Monument stands bravely at an astonishing height of 182 Meters and is the tallest Statue in the world.

Astonishing Facts About Statue of Unity

  1. The Statue of Unity is the world’s tallest statue with at a humongous height of 182 metres 
  2. The Statue was developed in about 46 months.
  3. Statue of Unity can withstand wind velocity up to 50 metre/second (180 kilometre/hour speeds) and is also capable to withstand earthquakes.
  4. It took 70,000 metric tonnes of cement to complete the construction.
  5. The Statue of Unity has a viewing gallery at 135 metres, which can accommodate up to 200 visitors at a time 

How To Reach?

By Air

The Vadodara airport is the nearest airport which is at a distance of about 90 kilometers away from the statue. From here one can hire a cab or use the state transport to reach the Statue of Unity.

By Rail

Vadodara railway station is the nearest railway station to the statue. One can easily get a cab that will take you directly to the site.

By Road

Kevadia Bus Stop is the nearest bus depot to the site and state run buses ply from all the major cities of Gujarat. Additionally one can also travel by private transport to reach the site.
