Jhandewalan Mandir – History, Dress Code, How to reach

Jhandewalan Mandir, also known as Jhandewalan Temple, is a famous Hindu temple located in New Delhi, India. This temple is dedicated to Maa Jhandewali, a manifestation of the Goddess Durga.

The temple is a popular religious and cultural landmark in Delhi and attracts devotees and tourists throughout the year.

People have so much faith in this temple that people have been coming here for years, no matter how difficult it may be, the path does not change.

This belief always remains in the mind that there is a solution to every problem in the court of Mother Goddess.

Why was it named Jhandewala Temple?

Talking about the history of the temple, more than 100 years ago, the Mother Goddess had appeared in a dream to Mr. Badri Bhagat, a businessman from Delhi and said that you will find my idol in this barren land, where there will be a flag where my idol is.

When Badri Bhagat searched for the idol, he found the idol of Mata under the flag at this very place. Since then he established the idol here and this temple was named Jhandewala Temple.

Apart from Mata Jhandewali, there are also statues of Swayambhu Shivling, Hanuman ji, Ganesh ji and Saraswati ji in the temple premises. It is said that when devotee Badri Bhagat found the idol of Mata, the idol was broken.

Generally a broken idol is not installed but because it was a self-manifested idol, it was installed.

Architectural Marvel

The temple’s architecture is a blend of modern and traditional styles. The main shrine is adorned with intricate carvings and artwork, reflecting the rich architectural heritage of India.

The deity, Maa Jhandewali, is beautifully adorned and enshrined in the inner sanctum. Devotees offer prayers and seek blessings from the goddess, who is believed to protect them from evil forces and grant their wishes.
