Harihareshwar Temple is a renowned Hindu temple located in the town of Harihareshwar in the Raigad district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is also called the Kashi of the South.

The temple is surrounded by four hills Harihareshwar, Harshinachal, Brahmadri and Pushpadri.

The primary deity of the temple is Lord Harihareshwar, which is a combined form of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. The temple complex also houses idols of Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu.

History of Harihareshwar Temple

Harihareshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Regarding the history of the temple, it is said that Chandra Rao More had built Gol Chakkar around the temple. After this, in 1723 the temple was again completely restored.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. But in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, there are linga-shaped idols of Lord Shiva as well as Mata Parvati, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma.
