Vishalakshi Temple

It is believed that the earrings or eyes of Sati fell on the spot where the temple stands today. This makes the temple a significant Shakti Pitha, a holy site dedicated to the Divine Mother.

The temple’s name, “Vishalakshi” (meaning “large-eyed”), is derived from the belief that one of Sati’s eyes fell here.

While the exact date of the temple’s construction is unclear, it is believed to have been established centuries ago.

The temple has undergone renovations and additions over the years, but its core remains dedicated to the worship of Goddess Vishalakshi.

The temple’s serene atmosphere and the devotion of its devotees make it a special place for spiritual seekers.
