Astonishing Facts About Mundeshwari Devi

In this temple, not only Hindus but people of other religions also come to offer sacrifices and see miracles happen in front of their eyes. Devotees believe that Maa Mundeshwari fulfills every wish sought with a sincere heart.

This temple, one of the ancient temples of India, is situated at a height of 608 feet on the Pavra hill of Kaimur mountain. The process of sacrifice in this temple is slightly different. The biggest feature of Mundeshwari temple is that there is a sattvik tradition of animal sacrifice. Here a goat is offered as a sacrifice, but its life is not taken.

When the goat is brought before the mother, the priest touches the idol and throws rice on the goat. The goat becomes unconscious, dead at that very moment.

After a while the process of throwing Akshat happens again, then the goat stands up and only after that it is freed. When this miracle happens in front of your eyes, you cannot believe that you are in the 21st century.

It is said that the goddess had come here to kill the demon named Chand-Munda, so after the destruction of Chand, Munda hid in this hill while fighting.

It was here that the mother killed Munda. That’s why it is famous by the name of Mata Mundeshwari Devi. Seeing the stones and pillars scattered on the hill, it seems that Shriyantra, many Siddha Yantra-Mantras are engraved on them.

There is a Panchmukhi Shivling of Lord Shiva in Maa Mundeshwari temple, which is said to have different colors in the morning, afternoon and evening. It is not even known when the color of Panchmukhi Shivling changes.
