History of Baba Balak Nath Mandir
The character of folklore and gods and goddesses reflects the nature of folk culture and society. In our society, many folklore stories are found about the worshipped gods and goddesses.
According to the information available in folklore, tales and scriptures about the life of Shri Siddha Yogi Baba Balak Nath Ji, the brief life story of Shri Baba Balak Nath Ji is as follows.
First birth of Baba Ji According to Skanda Purana, Baba Ji’s first incarnation is considered to be Skanda or Kartikeya, the son of Shiva Parvati, because Kartikeya Ji was also a brahmachari and Baba Ji is also a brahmachari and Kartikeya’s vehicle was a peacock and Baba Ji’s vehicle is also a peacock.
Second birth of Baba Ji Baba Ji was born as a Kaul in the second birth. In this birth also he worshipped Shiva. According to the facts obtained about Baba Ji’s second birth, Baba Ji’s favorite in Dwapar Yuga was Lord Shiva.
Third birth of Baba Ji In the third birth, Baba Ji is associated with Shukdev Muni, son of Maharishi Vyas. The story of Shukdev Ji’s birth is found in the Puranas in this way.
Once Brahma’s son Devarshi Narad Ji went to Parvati and while singing the praises of Shiva, told Maa Parvati that Shiva is immortal, but you have had many births.
The garland of skulls around Shiva’s neck is a symbol of your various births. Therefore, you should pray to Lord Shiva to attain immortality.
On the advice of Narad Ji, Maa Parvati prayed to Lord Shiva to narrate the immortal story to her for attaining immortality. On which Shiva Ji agreed to narrate the immortal story in a deserted place where no living being would listen to the story.
He made that place devoid of living beings with his divine weapon and then started narrating the story to Maa Parvati.
While listening to the story, Maa Parvati fell asleep. A parrot was sitting nearby who kept listening to the story and kept roaring. When Bhole Nath looked at Parvati at the end of the story, she was sleeping.
So Bhole Nath thought that when Parvati was sleeping, who was roaring in the story? When Bhole Nath looked around, he saw a baby parrot flying. Bhole Nath got angry and picked up Shankar Dhanush and ran after it to kill it. But this bird went into the womb of Vyas Rishi’s wife who had opened her mouth to yawn.
Lord Bhole Nath waited for the parrot to come out but it did not come out. Then Bhole Nath asked the child to come out.
The child put a condition for coming out that you give me a promise that when I will come out after taking birth in human form, any child born in the world at that time will get immortality and will be endowed with all the Siddhis.
As soon as Bhole Nath accepted the promise of the child, at that very moment, the child stood in front of Bhole Nath in the form of a divine child and received his blessings. Shuk means parrot, due to being born in human form from a parrot, he was called Shukdev.
This same child later became famous as Shukdev Muni. The other children born at the time of Shukdev Muni’s birth were nine Naths and became famous as 84 Siddhas. One of them was Shri Siddh Baba Balak Nath Ji. Darshan of Lord Shankar in Dwapar Yug
It is also a popular belief about Baba Balak Nath Ji that Baba Balak Nath Ji has been born in every era. Baba Ji appeared in the name of Skanda Swami Kartikeya in Satyug, Kaul in Treta and Mahakaul in Dwapar.
In Dwapar Yug, Baba Balak Nath Mahakaul had a desire since childhood to go to Mount Kailash and have a direct darshan of Lord Shankar.
With this desire, Mahakaul started towards Mount Kailash. On the way to Man Sarovar, he met an old woman. Whose name was Dharmon. This old woman asked Mahakaul Bal Yogi that where are you going? So he told that I have been worshipping Lord Shankar since three births.
Now I am going to Mount Kailash with the desire to have his darshan. That old woman told Mahakaul that this is not an easy task. For this you will have to use a trick.
That old woman said that you should immerse yourself in your penance on the banks of Manasarovar below Mount Kailash, where Mother Parvati comes to take bath on some special occasions. At that time you should fall at the feet of Mother Parvati and express your wish to her.
As per the trick of Mother Dharma, Mahakaul sat down to do penance on the Manasarovar lake. When Mother Parvati came there to take bath, he picked up Mother’s clothes. When Mother Parvati started searching for her clothes, Mahakaul introduced himself and expressed his desire to see Lord Shankar.
Mother Parvati saw that he was old, then she asked Mahakaul to come in the form of a child. Then Mahakaul took back Mother Parvati’s clothes and touched Mother’s feet, Mother Parvati took him to Mount Kailash with the help of Yoga Bal, but at that time Lord Shankar was engrossed in meditation. Mahakaul praised God.
When God opened his eyes, Lord Shankar was very happy to see Balyogi Mahakaul. He blessed the boy that in Kaliyug, Balyogi, you will become the most worshipped by the devotees because of your supreme accomplishments and you will always remain in the same childhood and childlike form in which you had appeared here and the increase in age will not have any effect on you.
Baba Ji’s fourth birth in Kaliyug and his education-initiation Baba Balath Ji’s fourth birth took place in Kaliyug. He was born in the Kathiawar region of Gujarat to mother Laxmi and father Vishnu Sharma. His father was a priest in a Shiv temple.
